Tourist Tax in Bali Starting 2024

Starting February 14, 2024, the provincial government of Bali will introduce a new tourist tax for foreign visitors. Every international tourist, whether arriving directly from abroad or via another province, will be required to pay a one-time fee of IDR 150.000 (approximately €10) during their stay in Indonesia.


Important Travel Documents

  • Passport: Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival and must have at least 2 blank pages.

  • Visa on Arrival (VOA): This visa can be obtained upon arrival by land, air, or sea, or online in advance, for a stay of up to 30 days. The VOA is available at the following airports: Balikpapan (BPN), Banjarmasin (BDJ), Batam (BTH), Denpasar-Bali (DPS), Jakarta (CGK), Lombok (LOP), Medan Kuala Namu (KNO), Makassar (UPG), Manado (MDC), Padang (PDG), Palembang (PLM), Pekan Baru (PKU), Surabaya (SUB), Surakarta (Solo) (SOC), Tanjung Pinang (TNJ), and Yogyakarta (YIA).


Recommended Vaccinations for Indonesia

Regardless of the duration of your stay, the following vaccinations are recommended for travel to Indonesia:

  • DTP vaccination: Protection against diphtheria, tetanus, and polio.

  • Hepatitis A vaccination: Protection against infectious hepatitis.
