During our recent four-day trip to Budapest, we had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Rum, a boutique design hotel that caters to modern urban explorers. Situated in the heart of the city at 4 Királyi Pál Street, 1053 Budapest, the hotel is within walking distance of numerous shops, bars, and restaurants, making it an ideal base for exploring the vibrant Hungarian capital. Additionally, its central location ensures excellent connectivity via public transportation, facilitating easy access to various parts of the city.

Stylish and Comfortable Accommodations

Hotel Rum offers a variety of room categories to suit different preferences and needs. Our room was exceptionally spacious, featuring a comfortable double bed, a private bathroom, and a cozy seating area with a sofa, providing a relaxing retreat after a day of sightseeing. The interior design blends authentic Hungarian elements with contemporary aesthetics, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. For guests seeking different room configurations, the hotel offers options such as the Light Rum rooms, ideal for single travelers or couples, and the Black Rum rooms, which are more spacious and can accommodate up to three guests with convertible double sofas.

Gastronomic Delights at Hotel Rum

SOLID Rooftop Restaurant

One of the standout features of Hotel Rum is the SOLID Rooftop Restaurant, located on the hotel's seventh floor. Each morning, we indulged in a delightful à la carte breakfast while enjoying stunning panoramic views of Budapest through the restaurant's expansive windows. The menu offered a variety of freshly prepared dishes, accompanied by coffee and fresh orange juice, making it a perfect start to our day. The restaurant is also open to external guests, offering breakfast on weekdays and brunch on weekends, providing a unique dining experience above the city.

SALT – Michelin-Starred Dining Experience

For those seeking an exceptional culinary adventure, SALT, the hotel's Michelin-starred restaurant, is a must-visit. The restaurant's concept revolves around traditional Hungarian cuisine, with a modern twist. Chef and co-owner Tóth Szilárd draws inspiration from his roots in the Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg region, incorporating foraged herbs and wild plants into the dishes, many of which are gathered by the restaurant's team. The tasting menu also features high-quality ham and bacon from the chef's family, reflecting the rich Hungarian culinary heritage. SALT operates from Wednesday to Saturday, 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and reservations are necessary to secure a table.
