Arusha Moivaro Lodge

The Moivaro Lodge in Arusha was our first stop. We flew to Kilimanjaro International Airport, where our driver picked us up for the approximately one-hour drive to the lodge.

The lodge features around twenty beautifully maintained bungalow-style rooms, each with its own bathroom. It is surrounded by lush greenery and includes a lovely swimming pool for relaxation.

There’s also a restaurant and bar on-site. In the restaurant, you can enjoy a dinner menu for $25, which includes an appetizer, soup, main course, and dessert. Breakfast is served in the restaurant as well, with a wide variety of options.

Several short walking trails are available around the lodge, which can be viewed on a map at the reception. Unfortunately, since we were only here for one night, we didn’t have time to explore them.

The staff at the lodge are extremely friendly and helpful.

Tarangire Safari Lodge

During our stay at the Tarangire Safari Lodge, we experienced the perfect blend of comfort and adventure. Nestled in the heart of the Tarangire National Park, the lodge offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape, allowing us to immerse ourselves in nature right from our bungalow.

Our bungalow was a cozy retreat, equipped with all the necessary amenities and a private terrace that overlooked the park. Waking up to the sounds of wildlife and the sight of elephants roaming in the distance was truly unforgettable. The lodge’s friendly staff provided exceptional service, ensuring that our every need was met.

After thrilling days of safari, returning to the lodge felt like coming home. The evenings were spent enjoying delicious meals served as a buffet, while taking in the breathtaking sunset over the park. Tarangire Safari Lodge was more than just a place to stay; it was an integral part of our Tanzanian adventure, creating lasting memories amid the beauty of the African wilderness.

We would have gladly stayed an extra night to enjoy the tranquility and the beautiful pool.

Marera Valley lodge

Marera Valley Lodge, located in the picturesque Marera Valley near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, offers a serene escape surrounded by stunning landscapes. The lodge features elegantly designed cottages with modern amenities and private verandas, allowing guests to enjoy the tranquility of the lush gardens.

Dining at Marera Valley Lodge includes a variety of local and international dishes made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Guests can savor their meals in the cozy restaurant or on the terrace with beautiful views.

The lodge provides a range of amenities, including a swimming pool and a spa, as well as opportunities for guided tours to nearby attractions like the Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara. Activities such as nature walks, birdwatching, and cultural visits to Maasai villages enhance the experience.

With its combination of comfort and stunning surroundings, Marera Valley Lodge is an ideal choice for travelers looking to explore the beauty of Tanzania while enjoying a peaceful retreat.

ThornTree Camp in Serengeti National Park

During our stay at ThornTree Camp in Serengeti National Park, we experienced a truly unique camping adventure. Our tent was equipped with private amenities, nestled right in the heart of the savanna. Just within a 10-meter radius, we spotted elephants, gazelles, buffalos, and even hyenas. One night, we were awakened by the sound of buffalos grazing right against our tent!

The dining experience was delightful, with dinner served buffet-style, and breakfast was equally satisfying. Since we spent the entire day on a game drive, the camp thoughtfully prepared packed lunches for us to enjoy.

The staff at ThornTree Camp were exceptionally friendly, always accompanying us to and from our tent while keeping an eye out for wildlife. This place is a must-visit for anyone seeking adventure in the heart of nature!
