As we continued our journey, we drove past the harbor, where ferries arrive and depart, bustling with activity. We also passed the local hospital and several schools, witnessing the essential services that support the island's residents. Along the way, we meandered through smaller villages, gaining a deeper understanding of the local culture and lifestyle.

Reaching the northern part of Mafia Island, we visited an active lighthouse, built by the Germans during World War I. Climbing the staircase of the lighthouse rewarded us with breathtaking views of the island and the surrounding ocean—truly a sight to behold. Our day wouldn’t be complete without a stop at Kanga Beach, a stunning stretch of pearly white sand adorned with swaying palm trees. We took some time to relax in this idyllic setting, enjoying the tranquility and savoring a freshly picked coconut, which added to the tropical experience.
